RAW DOG REVOLUTION

my natural rearing journey

My journey into raw feeding and natural rearing began in 2007. I was living in Atlanta with my husband, a tuxedo cat, Minkey, and two young dogs, Scarlet and Lucy. I was scrolling the net one fine day and came across a shocking news story about a huge pet food recall that encompassed dozens of brands of dog food, and the contaminants found in the food had already killed thousands of dogs!

Needless to say, I was mortified. What made things worse was that I was feeding a food that was made by one of the recalled brands!

I decided right then and there that my dogs, my babies, were NOT going to be a statistic. I threw that food away that same day, and started researching better foods to feed them.

What I found really opened my eyes, and it made so much sense to my wildlife biologist brain. I decided that I was going to feed them a species appropriate diet, and I spent the next 15 years continuing to research and refine not only their diet, but other things as well, like natural flea and tick prevention, heartworm alternatives, and ways to boost their natural immunity so that they wouldn't get sick and die before their time.

Thankfully, they lived many happy, healthy years living the natural life. Scarlet lived to 15 years of age, and Lucy lived to 17 and a half! Not too shabby for a pit bull and a Labrador! Minkey was a pickier eater than the dogs, so she was a tough one. But I successfully transitioned her to raw after we had a scare when she was 12 and we almost lost her. Switching her to a raw diet gave her 4 and a half more years of life!

Now my current pets, my dog Ripple (the big black and white lug whose face is all over this site!) and my cat Gizmo (the little green eyed monster to the left), have been raw fed since coming into my house as young animals, and they are thriving!

In my pet sitting career, I have watched many animals come and go, and I have seen the difference in health and longevity between the way my girls were raised and the way many of my client's dogs and cats were raised. There have been WAY too many instances of arthritis, cancer, diabetes, and many other illnesses that can be curbed, if not prevented, through a species appropriate diet and boosting natural immunity. I have not only seen it with my own pets, but I have read countless testimonies from people around the world who also follow this path for their animals with great success, as well as several renowned vets and pet professionals.

Every dog and cat deserves to live their best life. And I want to help YOUR fur babies live it! That is why I developed Raw Dog Revolution. Seeing the transformation in the dogs and cats and the tearful, grateful owners when they see the difference is why I do it. Animals are my life, and it means the world to me to be able to help them thrive!

"We had a last minute change of plans, and Zen Dog Pet Care came to the rescue when we needed help. Our dog Harvey LOVED Stephanie and had a great time with her. When we got home, he was happy, energetic, and very healthy.

Stephanie really went beyond the call of duty for us and we will definitely be calling her again. We could not have asked for a better pet sitter! Thanks for the video updates you sent us on our trip!"

LAUREN F, GA

"Steph was so great with our Aussie, Reno! He is shy around new people, and Steph knew exactly how to approach him and make him feel comfortable. She is always super responsive and helpful, especially when he needed to take meds or if we had any specific requests. I also love that she has an online portal for scheduling and updates! She literally sends updates and pictures for each of her visits, which put my worries at ease when we were out of town."
